Best Movies like Love Actually

Love Actually is one of those movies that you can't help but love. It's got all the classic elements of a romantic comedy, such as romance and laughter, but it also has heartwarming scenes that will make you tear up. Plus, there's just something about Hugh Grant and his floppy hair that makes us want to fall in love with him all over again. So, what if you're craving another dose of this modern classic? We've got some great suggestions for movies like Love Actually that'll keep your heart (and eyes) warm this winter season!

Sleepless in Seattle

Sleepless in Seattle is a romantic comedy film released in 1993, and has a rating of 4 out of 5. The movie stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan as the main couple, who meet each other while they’re both mourning the death of their respective spouses.

The plot of Sleepless in Seattle follows a widowed father who writes a letter to a radio DJ after hearing her talk about how everyone needs someone to love, but nobody wants to be alone. He explains that he and his wife were supposed to visit their son in Seattle; however, his wife died on the plane before it had even taken off for Washington State.

The radio host reads this letter on air and ends up falling for one of her listeners—who just so happens to be the same person mentioned in that letter! They decide they want to meet each other without knowing each other's identity yet...and well...you can probably guess where things go from there!

The Holiday

The Holiday is a 2004 romantic comedy starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, who play two women who swap homes for the holidays. Jude Law also stars in The Holiday as Diaz’s love interest.

This movie is the perfect winter rom-com. It’s an easy one to watch as you follow the ups and downs of two women who switch homes (and countries) for the holidays. As they attempt to escape from their own relationship issues back home, they find themselves falling for guys with local guys (who could have guessed!?). As cheesy as this movie can seem, it’s one that we go back to every winter, there is something so heartwarming about it that we can't get enough of it.

Bridget Jones's Diary

Bridget Jones’s Diary is the tale of Bridget, a single woman in her 30s who has just decided to start her life over. After being dumped by her boyfriend, Daniel Cleaver (who is clearly a jerk), she decides to go back to school for journalism. She writes about all of the mishaps that befall her along the way and how she deals with them in her column “Bridget Jones's Diary.”

In Bridget Jones's Diary, we see Bridget make some terrible choices regarding relationships with men, but she also makes some good ones as well. This movie may not have an actual love story like Love Actually does, but it does have many similarities that will keep you entertained until your next Netflix binge session!

Notting Hill

Notting Hill is a charming movie about a relationship between a celebrity and a bookstore owner. It's set in London, where the weather is always wet. The main characters in Notting Hill are Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, who play an American actress and an everyman bookshop owner respectively. They fall in love with each other while filming her new movie at his store, although he has been warned by his friends not to get involved with anyone famous because they only care about themselves.

The film has plenty of romantic scenes that will make you laugh and cry (sometimes at the same time) as it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride through their ups and downs as they navigate the world of fame together!

27 Dresses

27 Dresses is a romantic comedy from 2007 starring Katherine Heigl. The plot centers on Jane, an assistant to the bride, who is continually called on to be a bridesmaid for her best friend. While Jane loves helping her friend get married, she struggles with how often she's asked to make this commitment and how much it impacts her own love life.

This movie has all the elements of Love Actually—a romantic comedy that tells a series of interconnected stories about different couples in different places—but focuses on a single woman instead of multiple couples (though there are still plenty of romances). In fact, if you're looking for something similar to Love Actually but don't have time to watch one whole movie, 27 Dresses may be exactly what you're looking for!
